Quick answer: Use two layers. In IPTV Smarters Pro, open Settings > Parental Control, set a password, and lock the categories you want hidden. Then, on the device, set a PIN so kids can’t get around it: on Fire TV under Settings > Preferences > Parental Controls, on Google TV with a kids profile.
A big channel lineup and a large movie library mean there’s something for everyone, including content you’d rather young kids didn’t stumble into. A few minutes of setup gives you peace of mind. The best approach uses two layers: controls in the app, and controls on the device.
Layer 1: Parental controls in IPTV Smarters Pro
IPTV Smarters Pro lets you hide whole categories behind a password. Menu names can vary slightly between app versions.
- Open IPTV Smarters Pro and go to Settings (the gear icon).
- Select Parental Control.
- The first time, you’ll be asked to create a password. Pick one the kids don’t know, and write it down somewhere safe.
- You’ll see tabs for Live TV, Movies, and Series. In each tab, lock the categories you want hidden.
- Back out and check: locked categories should now ask for the password.
Tip: Category names come from the channel lineup, so scroll the full list in each tab. Movies and Series have their own categories, separate from Live TV, so lock them separately.
About adult content: LoftyTV’s adult content is optional. Lock those categories in the app as described above, and if you’d rather not have adult content on your account at all, text or email us to ask about removing it.
Layer 2: Parental controls on the device
App-level controls are only as good as the device’s lock. A curious kid can sometimes reset an app or install something else. Device controls close that gap.
Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick
- Go to Settings > Preferences > Parental Controls and switch them On.
- Enter your Amazon Prime Video PIN, or create one. This PIN is tied to your Amazon account.
- Turn on PIN Protect Purchases and PIN Protect App Launches. With app launches protected, any app that isn’t from Amazon (including IPTV Smarters Pro) asks for the PIN before opening.
- Consider also protecting Settings access if your model offers it, so the controls can’t be switched off.
Protecting app launches means adults enter the PIN too, which is a small trade-off. Some families leave it on for kids’ rooms and off for the main TV.
Google TV (onn 4K Pro, Chromecast with Google TV, Sony, TCL, Hisense)
- From the profile icon in the top corner, choose Add a kid and follow the steps.
- Pick only the apps you want available in the kid profile.
- Set a PIN for leaving the kid profile, so they can’t switch back to yours.
If you don’t add IPTV Smarters Pro to the kid profile, kids can’t open it at all. If you do, the Layer 1 category locks still apply inside the app.
Android phones and tablets
Use Google Family Link to approve apps and set screen time, and keep IPTV Smarters Pro’s category locks on.
iPhone and iPad
Use Settings > Screen Time to set App Limits and Content & Privacy Restrictions, and protect them with a Screen Time passcode different from the phone’s unlock code.
Layer 3 (optional): Your router
Many home routers and mesh systems offer per-device schedules, so a kid’s tablet goes offline at bedtime. It doesn’t filter specific channels, but it’s an easy way to enforce screen time across every app at once.
A five-minute test
After setup, hand the remote to an older kid or another adult and ask them to try:
- Opening a locked category in each tab: Live TV, Movies, and Series
- Searching for something inside a locked category
- Opening the app from the home screen
- Getting into the device’s settings
If anything gets through, tighten that layer. Search is the most common gap, so test it.
Frequently asked questions
I forgot my IPTV Smarters Pro parental control password. What now?
Clearing the app’s data resets it, along with your login. On a Fire TV, go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > IPTV Smarters Pro > Clear Data, then sign in again with your LoftyTV details and set a new parental control password.
Do parental controls follow my account to every device?
No. The app’s category locks are set on each device separately. Set them up on every device kids can use.
Can I lock individual channels instead of whole categories?
IPTV Smarters Pro locks by category. For a tighter setup, lock the category and add the channels you do want kids to watch to a Favorites list. See 7 IPTV Smarters Pro Tips.
